Calvin Lim is a Chartered Accountant with around two decades of experience across accounting, corporate finance, valuation, equities analysis, portfolio management and business ownership. He has founded, acquired and operated small businesses, giving him first-hand understanding of the commercial realities behind the accounts.

He began his career at PwC, working across Audit and Assurance, Transaction Services and Corporate Value Advisory. Within PwC’s valuation practice, he developed a technical foundation in business and equity valuation, financial modelling and transaction analysis, advising private equity firms, corporates and investment committees across companies and industries.

Calvin subsequently spent more than eight years with Fidelity International as an investment analyst, using valuation and financial analysis daily across large listed companies in property, gaming, retail, online classifieds, insurance, banking and non-bank financial services, spanning multiple countries.

He then joined Northcape Capital as a portfolio manager and investment analyst in global equities. For five years, valuation was central to company research, security selection and portfolio decisions across international markets. Across Fidelity and Northcape, his work involved advising investment committees and informed investment advice and direct portfolio management involving billions of dollars of capital.

Across these roles, Calvin evaluated businesses through the complementary lenses of an accountant, corporate-finance adviser, valuation practitioner, institutional investor, portfolio manager and business owner. His experience spans private and listed businesses, M&A, securities, options and other ownership-linked interests. He has both advised on M&A and personally executed transactions, bringing an owner’s understanding of value, risk, negotiation and commercial trade-offs.
