Evident ValuationsClarity when value matters

Our approach

A valuation process that can be followed.

Our work is designed to make the conclusion understandable in context: what was asked, what evidence was available, what methods were appropriate and which assumptions mattered.

Five stages

From question to conclusion

Understand the purpose

Confirm why the valuation is required, the valuation date, intended users and decision context.

Confirm scope and independence

Complete relevant checks, agree terms, identify dependencies and set the appropriate engagement scope.

Gather and test evidence

Review financial, operational, market and industry information and reconcile material inconsistencies.

Analyse and form the opinion

Select appropriate methods, apply professional judgement and test material assumptions and sensitivities.

Communicate the conclusion

Explain the value, methods, evidence, assumptions, limitations and implications in clear language.

Engagement format

The scope should match the purpose.

Depending on the purpose, intended users, evidence and applicable requirements, APES 225 recognises different forms of valuation service.

Valuation engagement

A valuation conclusion developed under an agreed comprehensive scope.

Limited-scope valuation engagement

A valuation conclusion subject to agreed limitations that are made clear.

Calculation engagement

A calculated value using agreed inputs or approaches rather than a full valuation conclusion.

You do not need to choose the category yourself. We will recommend an appropriate scope after understanding the intended use.

Information and timing

The evidence required depends on the question.

Common information includes historical financial statements, management accounts, forecasts, ownership documents, transaction terms, tax or legal instructions and industry evidence. We request information proportionate to the agreed scope.

Before documents are shared

  • Describe the matter at a high level
  • Identify the parties and intended users
  • Complete conflict and independence checks
  • Agree scope, fees, timing and responsibilities
  • Arrange restricted-access Google Drive exchange

Start with purpose and context.

An initial consultation can help identify whether valuation work is required and the likely next step.
